| Optio | Post; What will U.S. Flak Vest Stop? (other than flak)I was given a standard Ground Troop kevlar Fragmentation Vest by a friend of mine. I was curious, what will this vest stop other than shrapnel and other flak? It does not have the slots for the higher threat 10X12 armoured plates. |

| The fire is everything...  | If it's (almost) the same as we use here in Norway then it does stop (low speed) shrapnel and fragments. It does not stop bullets or knives/bayonets, you need the extra kevlar plates for that. |
