Post; War!!

When i joined army with 18 years old, i was looking at the war like just another way to have fun. Then i did not realized what monster war is.

I do not regret that i made decision to enlist, and defend my country.
It was like haze, people died, beeing wounded, and i was shocked just for the second, and then i was back C. Sheen in Platoon!

Then after 12 years, since my last combat expirience, came Afghanistan, war again. I was totaly aware with 35 years , what should i expect, i what can i loose. And i can tell you, that i suffer more trauma, from couple of IED, s and 7 month tour, then for 4 years of my country homeland war, with shelling, tanks, planes and other things.

So war is strange thing, and every one suffer, from it, that is thrue.

What do you think, my brothers in arms.

I hope you're wrong.
The day man stops fighting is the day we're all dead.

Fighting won't end. It's just the old guys who seem to do more fighting now.

As for PTSD... I think some of the other members here can help you with that. A few have been to war.

While the thread I am linking you to is more about officers, there is an excellent side discussion on the effects of PTSD and family reorientation in the midst of extended deployments:

http://www.military-quotes.com/forum...-s-t48850.html

In addition, our friend Team Infidel has posted a dozen or more news and related articles about PTSD, combat fatigue, separation anxiety, and issues facing families of returning troops.
