| Primus Pilus | Post; What is the future for caseless ammo?Anyone read any news on this as of late? Are any of the militaries going to adopt this for their use, if so how far into the future? Or does the cost really outweigh the benefits? Do you think we'll have weapons like those you saw in the movie Aliens? |

| Centurion | Caseless ammo is really unreliable and has to factory packed.

| Optio | The G-11 is the future of caseless ammo weapons. It is not new because they were advertising the thing twenty years ago, but they got a DOD contract and shut up. The government is just waiting for the right time to release the rifle. The main problem was overcoming the extreme heat and cook-offs that occurred because brass cases, which the rifle lacks, act as a heat sink. http://www.world.guns.ru/assault/as42-e.htm |

| Centurion | As far as I know, the G11 is dead, died in the 80s. It's won't be fielded by any army. |

| Primus Pilus | Does anyone know if there is going to be other developments for this besides the G-11? That was my question, I had already know about the G-11, I was just wondering if the ammo itself is being considered for future use. If not, and we skip caseless ammo then the next level of technology is probably pulse weapons. |
