i think with the weapons we have today large armies are no longer needed, smaller with better trained forces are just as good as having thousands of untrained men. The trend in britain and several other european countries is to have a small but highly trained full time army, rather than a conscripted army.

In my opinion technology has made it more convient for some countries to decrease the amount of soldiers they have, but a lot of soldiers that or trained and well organized like America Or China can also play in important role.... Just My 2 Cents :P

It depends on against which countries you are comparing the UK/USA armies.

If you compare it with Sudan, Samalia, I am sure your 20 soldiers can win from 100 soldiers there, but against other SERIOUS countries like China, N.Korea, India, then man should not over-estimate himself too much, those troops especially Chinese troops are very hardly trained, if you think it is poorly trained, then you are or arrogant or ignorant.

There should be a comfy medium in that poll, a strong military force that can hold it's own, but not a million soldiers, and not too little.

I can tell you that the UK has more then 100 nuclear weapons and also everything nuclear etc in the UK is done in *unknown underground stations. Believe it or not. I think im allowed to say that much....

USA/UK could do that vs lesser european countries.

You claim your military is so well trained. Can you tell us some of their training and workouts? Or can you only post pics. I could show you a pic of a 135 pound Ranger who doesent look like he could fight off a flea. But when he gets on the field its an entirely different matter.
