Ma'am, I was not offended. I just find that comments like that is kinda counter productive. Also, I am here recruiting because I do know that there are active or former military in this forum. Most of our members are active military, retired, or other. I am just here trying to do what I can for my Corp. Those in the corp who has never been in the military, we draw from your experience, although it is just a fraction, we still learn.

Freyja, my dear... everyone is entitled to say their piece here. That is the basic human right entitled to any human. And let me share with you something, if you are not already aware of it, dearie...

The reason all of us here has that right, is simply because people like you, and thousands of others has decided to put on that uniform and are prepared to put your life on the line, just like thousands of others, to ensure that the rest of us is guaranteed that freedom of expression. That is something that many people do not understand and could not accept...

So it is ok, my friend, for someone who wants to say his piece... You can always do him the way you did that naughty Afghan man...

You learn fast, Matthew- do not piss off a Scandinavian girl, you have better chances of survival tangling with a grizzly bear...

I can understand your enthusiam in doing your recruitment. To me, that is admirable. And if you have been around veterans, retired, active or otherwise, you will find them a rather strange breed. They can be of two extremes- they can be blabby about or... they just clamped up and do not talk about it- unless when they are in their circle of trusted friends. My dad was in the Malay Regiment during WWII. He escaped from the POW camp, joined some Allied (British/ New Zealanders/ Aussie and God knows what other nationalities) and fought in the Malayan jungles as a guerilla. He did not talk to any of his children for years after the war. Did he kill anyone?- probably. Was he brutal in carrying out those acts?- maybe... I only got to know what he did from my late grandma.

You are asking people who have actually gone through something that your Corp (and I mean no disrespect here) members (those without battle experience) can only imagine what a real conflict would be like. Listening to stories is not the same as going through it, my young friend...

And one other thing about veterans, in case you are not aware... They poke fun at everything- I suppose it is because after going what they did and experienced, their outlook to life is rather different as compared to how civilians look at life...

What you did (and do not taking it the wrong way, friend) is like telling us that we should watch porn because the acting is superb....

I wish you well in your efforts, Matthew... And so I end with this question- do I still get to sign up as a PMC?

It's not what you say, it's how you say it. His comment was in my opinion arogant. If you show up in an open forum and presents something that others do not believe is God's gift to mankind then you must be prepared to receive criticism. Do not expect that we just shut up.

No doubt - she is Danish

If that was your goal probably not the best idea to put it on a forum. People discuss things on forums....

What was your name in the corp? And you can't just apply to be an officer right off the bat Mr Walker.
Well I did apply for the direct entry officer course. So that says to me that you can apply to be an officer right off the bat. I signed up under the pseudonym "bob walker". Is there anything you can actually do on the site? aside from learn things and do tests to progress through the ranks. No games no comps? Just a place for self gratification and socialising? If that's it thats cool ( a bit boring though) the UI is also lacking.

The oath to serve my country as a soldier did not include a contract for the normal luxuries and comfort enjoyed within our society. On the contrary it implied hardship, loyalty and devotion to duty regardless of rank.
