| Tribunus Laticlavius | Aahh Gator, maybe it would have been different had those nukes have been misplaced by those dirty pinko leftists. Oh well, the world is a very simple place for those with such unsophisticated views, it's just a pity that it has no bearing on the way that the real world works.

| No Chance Outside | Anyways, this is what I have to say about this on whether or not this was an accident or not. I know what the police officer said, but that's what police officer say until they have a final report. They don't want to jump to conclusions. Remember, they may have to eat their words later and that's not very good professionally. If the evidence given in the news report is true, that the liquid was not water and it was an oily strange substance and it ran a good length of the monument, I have a hard time seeing how such a thing could be an accident. If it was in one place then I think it could have been an accident but the way it was splattered makes me believe that either it was in a squeeze bottle and squeezed or it was in an open cap bottle and had the liquid flung at it. That's my take on this. If the evidence is true, I think this is about an accident as is a multiple gunshot wound to the head with a revolver is a suicide. Although this event is indeed very unfortunate, it doesn't take away any of the respect that these people deserve. I respect them no less today than before the incident. It's just an act of immaturity by kids who don't understand s**t.

| Tribunus Laticlavius | The problem with this argument is that you are essentially ignoring the professionals ie the police because they are not prepared to give an unsubstantiated answer while at the same time giving an opinion that is equally unsubstantiated. The key to this is to wait and see what the authorities have to say on the matter as they are the ones with the "facts". For the most part I agree with your line of thinking but on the other hand this is a national monument in the nations capital on the eve of 9/11 and the monument has a high level of security I find it hard to believe that the story would not have been picked up by ANY of the major news outlets hell Fox will run anything even remotely pro-right wing and even they haven't covered it.

| No Chance Outside | MontyB, I think the professionals will come up with a similar conclusion... or if only to ease tensions decide to report that it was inconclusive. Anyways, that's my reasoning. Lots of people here actually have views different from official report conclusions. So why shouldn't I have that right as well? |
