Post; Veterans poem

I am a bit of a writer, and i have done some poems about the armed forces, and i thought this would be a proper place for one

please feel free to leave comments about it and use it freely

A veteran’s poem

But you didn’t cry.
The time to cry
Was when you made it home and realized?
You didn’t leave you family alone.
When they heard your footsteps,
They cried some more but,
These were tears of joy.
Some see their loved ones name on the wall.
They start weeping and saying prayers
They are missed.
All of our veterans are heroes
Whether they made it back,
Or died for freedom,
We who are here,
Love you the way you are.

This Poem is for the Veterans
Who Served in the Vietnam War
When you were called to do your duty
You got up and ready to get dirty
You may have lived
You may have died
You may have been tortured
But you didn’t cry.

The time to cry
Was when you made it home and realized?
You didn’t leave you family alone.
When they heard your footsteps,
They cried some more but,
These were tears of joy.

Some see their loved ones name on the wall.
They start weeping and saying prayers
They are missed.

All of our veterans are heroes
Whether they made it back,
Or died for freedom,
We who are here,
Love you the way you are.

again i apologize for the mistake
