Soldier Soldier have you heard,
I'm gonna jump out a big iron bird,
Up in the morning in the drizzlin' rain,
gonna pack my shoot and board the plane,
C-130 rollin' down the strip,
US Marines on a one way trip,
Mission top secret, destination unknown,
I don't even know if i'm comin home.
Jump up, hook up, shuffle to the door,
jump on out and count to four (or, jump on out and shout "MARINE CORPS")
If that shoot don't open wide,
I'll be splattered on the country side,
unless i got a reserve by my side,
if that shoot should fail me too,
look out ground, i'm comin' through,
If i land in your drop zone,
Box me up and ship me home,
If i die on a chinese hill,
take my gear or the commies will,
if i land in korean mud,
bury me with a case of bud,
bury me with speakers all around my toes,
so i can rock to axl rose,
bury me with speakers all around my head,
so i can rock to the grateful dead,
pin my medals all upon my chest,
tell my momma i did my best,
then bury me in the Leanin' Rest

way back when recon style
-------------------------
way back when at the dawn of time.
in the valley of death where the sun dont shine.
the roughest toughest fighter ever known was made.
from a M-16 and a Live Grenade.
he was a mean green lean fightin machine.
who proudly bore the title of RECON MARINE

Infantry
--------
I left the sky in the middle of the night
I hit the deck and I'm ready to fight.
Colt .45 and Kabar by my side
These are the tools that make men die.

Hail, hail, infantry
Queen of battles, follow me
Marine Corps life is the life for me
Cause nothing in this life is free.

Here I lie in this foreign land
Bleeding on this foreign sand.
Ground around me turning red
By the time they find me, I'll be dead.

Hail, hail, infantry
Queen of battles, follow me
Marine Corps life is the life for me
Cause nothing in this life is free.

In the middle of the night in the drizzle and rain,
I packed my chute and ran to the plane.
Mission top secret mission unknown,
We do not know if we're ever comin' home.
Stand up buckled up shuffled to the door,
Jumped right out the plane and shout MARINE CORPS!
If my chute don't open wide
I've got another one by my side.
If that chute don't open round
I'll be the first one on the ground.

Hail, hail, infantry
Queen of battles, follow me
Marine Corps life is the life for me
Cause nothing in this life is free.

Tell my mama not to cry
Cause in the Corps it's do or die.
Pin my wings upon my chest
Tell my girl I've done my best.
Place a Kabar in my hand.
I'll fight my way to the promised land.

Orraaahhh!
Blood and Guts
Orraaahhh!
Everywhere
Blood and Guts everywhere
We're lean and mean
We're the US Marines
Orraaahhh!
Semper Fi!
Cause int the Corps we're do or die!
Hail, hail, infantry
Queen of battles, follow me
Marine Corps life is the life for me
Cause I'm Marine Corps infantry!

A United States Marine (marching)
---------------------------------
You can keep your Army khaki,
You can keep your Navy blue.
I have the world's best fighting man,
To introduce to you.

His uniform is different,
The best you've ever seen.
The German's called him "Devil Dog,"
His real name is "Marine"

He was born on Parris Island,
The place where God forgot.
The sand is eighteen inches deep,
The sun is blazing hot.

He gets up every morning,
Before the rising sun.
He'll run a hundred miles and more,
Before the day is done.

He's deadly with a rifle,
A bayonet made of steel.
He took the warrior's calling card,
He's mastered how to kill.

And when he gets to heaven,
St. Peter he will tell,
Another Marine reporting, sir,
I've served my time in Hell.

So listen, all you young girls,
To what I have to say:
Go find yourself a young Marine,
To love you every day.

He'll hug you and he'll kiss you,
And treat you like a queen.
There is no better Fighting Man:
The United States Marine!

Maybe I should make a Military Cadence section on the site and in the forum...

I have a Ton of them myself....

Thers the short one from full metal jacket..sorry if i mess up lol:

(repeat the line)
Momma and Papa were laying in bed,
Momma rolled over, this is what she said:
A give me somethen,
PT!
Good for me,
Good for you,

Up in the morning to the rising sun,
Gonna run all day till the runnin is done.

is that all that was on there or is there more??

Good God, I haven't heard some of these in so long--brought back very strong memories. Looking for the full lyrics to one I learned back in the 1980's, starts like this:

If you hear any noise
It's just me and the boys
Movin' out into the night
Lookin' for a firefight

If you hear the sound of steel
As we move into the field
It's the rifle and the knife
With which we protect your life

Anyone know the rest of this one? I'd be much obliged if anyone could help out.

Hi vmfa312, Welcome to the forum...

I think I have heard that one before, but I can't remember the whole song..
I'll try to find/remember the rest of it..

We sing Captain Jack! Let's see I've got a bunch floating around somewhere... Anyone ever heard the "When my Granny was ---" ? I don't quite remember it, but it's something like:
When my Granny was 91
She did PT just for fun.
--91! Just for fun!
When my Granny was 92,
She did PT better than you!
--92! Better than you!
--91! Just for fun!
Anyway, and on and on it goes. Granny does lotsa PT!

Momma and Papa were lying in bed
Momma rolled over and this is what she said

Then There Came The Color Blue

Then There Came the Color Red
To Show The World The Blood We Shead

Then There Came The Color White

Down in the ocean,
down in the grimy sea,

There’s a Great White Shark,
he's a lookin at me.

He said 'Hey there Marine,
I'm the King of the Sea.'

'And if you want to get by,
you gotta get through me.'

The point man laughed,
as he drew his knife.

He said 'Hey there Sharky,
you must be tired of life.'

I saw an old lady walkin' down the street.
She had a chute on her back, and jump boots on her feet.
I said, "Hey, Old Lady, where you goin' to?"
She said, "I'm goin' to the Army Airborne School."
I said, "Hey, Old Lady, I think you're too old;
You'd better leave that stuff to the brave and the bold."
She said, "Listen, Sonny, I'm talking to you;
I'm an instructor at the Airborne School."

I saw the same old lady walkin' down the street.
She had a pack on her back, jungle boots on her feet.
I said, "Hey, Old Lady, where you goin' to?"
She said, "I'm goin' to Marine Corps Recon School."
I said, "Hey, Old Lady, I think you're too old;
You'd better leave that stuff to the brave and the bold."
She said, "Listen, Sonny, I'm talking to you;
I'm an instructor at the Recon School."

I saw the old lady walkin' down the street.
She had a tank on her back, and fins on her feet.
I said, "Hey, Old Lady, where you goin' to?"
She said, "I'm goin to the Navy Diving School."
I said, "Hey, Old Lady, I think you're too old;
You'd better leave that stuff to the brave and the bold."
She said, "Listen, Sonny, I'm talking to you;
I'm an instructor at the Diving School."

I turned to leave, and she spun me around;
She kicked me in the head, and threw me to the ground.
I looked up through my tears, and with a voice full of fear,
I begged, "Please, Old Lady, don't kill me right here."
She said, "Listen, Sonny, don't you mess with me;
I'm Airborne, Recon, and UDT!"
