War with Iran and Syria is inevitable. History is usually a predictor of the future. The attempts be the EU and others to appease the subhuman monsters that control those countries will inevitably lead to bolder and deadlier aggression, until such time that there is no alternative to war, and even the misguided pacifists of the EU will recognize that there are no other options.

I doubt it will happen anytime soon. Far too many complaints for forcibly removing the governments of Afganistan and Iraq, but those were at least shown to be a threat to the United States. (Obviously, in the case of Iraq, that is constantly being debated.) I think that the political climate will not allow for it.

It is highly unlikely that any Middle Eastern country would take sides. Their verbal support would likely be very strongly given for Iran though. Highly unlikely that any Middle Eastern nation would support the USA in such a war.

No, it wouldn't be WW3 because nobody would be willing to commit to either side. At best, you might see a couple Muslim nations jump in for Iran, but that is unlikely. They wouldn't want to take the risk on Iran's behalf.

I don't see how Iran would be capable of winning such a war in all honesty. Iraq had a bigger, badder, better equipped army and the USA took almost notime at all to destroy/defeat it. But does that make the USA victorious? No because we'd still be liable to stick with an occupation force while a new government is created. It would play out pretty much like Iraq already has. The USA can win the war, but winning the peace is another matter entirely.

I think that its very discussable simply because it is something that could potentially happen within the foreseeable future, so discussing that hypothetical conflict isn't necessarily a bad thing. It becomes a bad thing when people get all pissed off and angry about their opinions, hence the Forum rule against such things.
