BAGHDAD - The US military on Tuesday announced the death of a US soldier in
the western Al-Anbar province of Iraq.

The soldier died from wounds received in "enemy action" on Sunday.

The military has lost nine soldiers on Sunday, with eight of them reported
dead in a series of rebel attacks in and around Baghdad.

The latest fatality brought the US military's losses in Iraq since the
invasion to 2,628, according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
