BAGHDAD, Aug 27, 2006 (AFP) - Insurgents killed a US soldier in a roadside
bomb attack southeast of Baghdad, the US military said Sunday.

The soldier was killed when his vehicle was hit at around 10:15 pm (1815
GMT) Saturday.

The latest fatality brought the US military death toll in Iraq since the
March 2003 invasion to 2,619, according to AFP count based on Pentagon
figures.
