| Tribuni Angusticlavii | Post; Unofficial motto: Shemya AFB, Aluetian Islands, AlaskaWhile stationed at Shemya AFB (Now Earackson AFS) in Alaska in the late 80's, quite a few mottos were developed by the inhabinants of the "greybar hotel" the best one: "Shemya AFB: It aint the end of the world, but you can see it from here" rest easy tonite fellow ex-shemyites: your Air Force still protects you.

| Tirones | Post; Shemya MottoWhile stationed at The Black Pearl of the Aleutians from Aug73-Aug74 I remember many times looking out toward Agattu and Attu and thinking that not far beyond those islands was the International Date Line. With that in mind, my motto for Shemya was: "Shemya, on a clear day you can see tomorrow" Bruce Thomas |
