BAGHDAD, Oct 4, 2006 (AFP) - Two US soldiers have been killed in Iraq, the
US military announced on Wednesday.

One was killed by enemy fire near the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk and the
other by a sniper in eastern Baghdad, both on Tuesday.

Since Monday, 10 US soldiers have been killed, mostly in Baghdad, in a
sudden spike in US casualties that brings the number of killed since the
March 2003 invasion to 2,725 according to an AFP count based on Pentagon
figures.
