Post; Two U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, military command says

BAGHDAD, Iraq_A U.S. soldier was killed Thursday while operating in the
restive Anbar province west of Baghdad, the U.S. military command said.

The soldier, assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division, died "as a
result of wounds sustained from enemy action," the command said in a
statement.

Earlier in the day, the U.S. military said another U.S. soldier had been
killed in northern Baghdad on Wednesday when a roadside bomb exploded next
to the vehicle he was traveling in.

The identities of the two soldiers were withheld pending notification of
next of kin.
