Post; Two U.S. marines killed in western Iraq

BAGHDAD, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Two U.S. marines were killed in separate
incidents in volatile Anbar province in western Iraq, the U.S. military said
on Friday.
The two marines, assigned to the 5th Combat Marine Battalion, were
killed on Thursday due to "enemy actions" during operations in Anbar, the
military said in a brief statement.
The names of the victims were being withheld pending notification of
next of kin, the statement said.
More than 2,575 U.S. military personnel have been killed in Iraq since
the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media count.
