well that made some interesting reading! all i know is that at the south end of the south island (where i live) it is now possible to get sun burned on a cloudy day, and that plants are getting sun burned too.

worst thing is there is nothing we can do!

I love my elevation. About 4,900 ft and WAY inland from either coast. No worries about tsunamis unless their going to kill the whole planet.

On the Canary Island thing ... how do we know which way the stack falls??

That sounds like a living nightmare to me chewie_nz I would not go outdoors without my cap thats for sure.

I dont know to much about the canary Islands, but you dont have to be an expert to see what these Islands are facing if there should be a change in the sea currents thats for sure. I think Indonesia have teached us an Important lesson if you ask me.

every heard the zhirinovsky speech? *russian ldeader, who im sure is racist, and was very drunk at the time of the speech*

this was before gulf war, he is drunk, saying "george, lets not atack iraq, attack australia, or tiblisi (georgia, south of russia)
he also mention something about being able to melt the poles, or change the axis of the earth and put US underwater... this may be some drunk lunatic, but there may be some truth to it...

In the first place, to fulfil a solemn international obligation . . . an obligation of honor which no self-respecting man could possibly have repudiated. I say, secondly, we are fighting to vindicate the principle that small nationalities are not to be crushed in defiance of international good faith at the arbitrary will of a strong and overmastering Power.
