Post; Translation of a Latin motto

Hi

I have an Italian army badge (vintage: post 1945) that has the latin motto
"Ut ardeant ardeo". I have also seen this motto on the front on the current Italian NCO School.

Can anyone tell me what it means in english?

Cheers

I believe it means "I get burned for them to burn", some kind of a voluntary sacrifice if it is necessary to kill the enemy.
