It was a series produced in the 80's about a platoon in Vietnam circa 1968. Seems popular with the laymen, but how accurate is it really? I'd hate to come up with a handful of "Platoon" or a steaming pile of "Full Metal Jacket." Anyone seen any episodes?

I thought it was pretty good. Some of the episodes are better than others. I was thinking about springing for the entire series on DVD but it's over a 100 bucks.

It is 60+ hours so the price doesn't sound too bad...if it's worth watching.

They sell the 3 separate seasons individually too and they used to be cheaper than the box set. Now they are more expensive if you buy them separately. I should have seized the opportunity. Another thing is that the DVDs don't have the original soundtrack due to copyright laws.

I've seent eh show when it was aired on TBS. It's okay, nothing major. Just a good show to watch to kill some time.

I would say it's the 80's version of COMBAT!. Which by the way I have the entire five seasons on DVD.

I loved it when I was young, it hasnt aged as well as say Platoon or Full Metal Jacket.
