BAGHDAD, Iraq - (AP) Three U.S. soldiers from the 48th Brigade Combat
Team were killed Friday in a traffic accident south of Baghdad, the U.S.
military said.
The accident near Ali Air Base in southern Dhi Qar province occurred
about 3 p.m. and is under investigation, the military said. Names of the
dead were withheld pending notification of kin.
Those deaths brought to at least 2,124 the number of U.S. service
members who have died since the beginning of the war in March 2003,
according to an Associated Press count.
