Office Welcomes U.S. Reinstating Dokdo Status Thursday, July 31, 2008 11:59:50  The presidential office has welcomed the U.S. Board on Geographic Names' (BGN) reinstatement of labels describing the Dokdo islets as Korean territory. Presidential Spokesman Lee Dong-kwan said the U.S. government’s prompt actions reflected deep trust and friendship between the leaders of the two countries. He appreciated both President George W. Bush’s interest in the matter and his understanding of the sentiment of Koreans. A government official added that the government had hoped to resolve the issue before a bilateral summit next week. ------------------------- Thank you President Bush!
