It seems that we all mean the same, more or less. Talking and educating about foreign religions is alright. But stressing and over-emphasizing this is crossing the line.
If they cant teach about domestic ones they sure as heck shouldnt teach foreign ones.

Yep, leave it to California to come up with so contrary and ridiculous. Hey, how many motions have there been in Hollywood to secede from the State and the USA when things weren't going the way certain folks wanted to. I believe it was the city of Berkley that passed a resolution disallowing any US military planes from overflying their city if they were going to be participating in the war in Afghanistan.

As long as we have the super-liberal Californians, we can always say with pride:

Actualy about half of California is still pretty conservative or moderate conservative.

Northern Cal, is mostly Democrat and ultra-liberal (leftwing), with San Fransisco and all those dope smoking counties.

Southern Cal, usually swings to the Republican and conservative vote (except for LA and Hollywood areas). Orange and San Diego counties are mostly conservative leaning.

SF is probably the most ultra-liberal area in the US, while Orange County is probably one of the most conservative. Stark contrast. Not to mention Orange County is a very family freindly area to live in, SF is very family unfriendly.

If you take a look at the California, Northern Cal has very little industry, few jobs. Southern Cal massive industry, plentiful jobs. Its not hard to figure out why, the difference in phylosophy does make a difference in the economy of the same state. I guess those in Northern Cal are too busy smoking dope and thinking of creating somekind of socialist paradise that they forgot to get somekind of economy going.

What swings the vote in national elections is the large population centers of LA and SF.

The court case regarding this happened in SF.

Californians really don't care that much, i come from the state and i've seen it all around me. Think about it, we're consistenly a democratic state in the presidential elections and both are senators are democrats. But our governor is a republican, a hollywood movie star republican, but he is one none the less. This state is pretty weird because it's like a microcosm of the american political spectrum and all its complexities. I live in LA county in Glendale where there are a lot of mid eastern immigrants. I have no idea which ones are republicans and which are dems, most don't care much. Voter turnout for our city council elections was 20,000 in a city of 200,000, that's pretty bad.

Overall i'd say we're more liberal leaning but not was much as washington state for example. The counties on the coast are blue, the interior ones are red, idk why the hell that is. But SF is an important naval area so there's a large military presence there and i don't hear anything about them having trouble. Plus berkeley isn't very important for flights being on the other side of the bay away from the ocean. That city is full of students and hippies with no where to go, so what do you expect. SF itself has industry but it's surrounded by agricultural regions compared to the wasteland of LA that is made out of concrete perfect for industry.

I live in a weird state, so one of these days i wish to move away and go to one of the smaller cities on the coast and just not have to deal with the nonsense so much.

Btw, the whole kid learning about islam seems pretty weird to me because of how much effort they're spending on it. How about this, teach him MATH. I think cultural diverisity is great, but for god's sake our nation's schools need to focus on math and science or we'll be in the bottom of the IQ bucket someday. And english, even native born blonde hair kids can't use that language correctly, now that's scary

Now, Major if you were to further expound on this line and tell us that these "hard workers" you know are in fact the elected officials of California it would go a long way towards explaining this state to the rest of the nation.

Every country needs a province/ state that one can hate in dire times and can walk away with when the winds of fortune are upon them! What would the US be without the glam of California? Who would equalize on the balance for all those on the extreem other end of the spectrum? Live and let live and peace to the world!

People should learn as much about Islam and Xtianity as possible so they can make sound evaluations and question whether they really want to be part of either religion.
