Several members have wondered who pays the ACLU to destroy America, well here's your answer.

I simply cannot understand why some people are so anti-ACLU. I don't agree with every cause they support (like nazi skinheads), but whether you agree with it or not the fundimental role of the ACLU is the protection of American Civil Rights as guarenteed by the Constitution from the predetary nature of government. I find that honorable.

As for Funding most of the ALCU funding comes from donations from big foundations such as Ford, Rockefeller, Carniegie and a dozen or so others.

The ACLU doesnt recieve money from govornment EXCEPT in government liability cases. For example, In 1994-2003 Kentucky was forced to pay the ACLU legal costs when it passed a restrictive anti-abortion and state religion laws. The laws were struck down in the courts.

I would also say that the ACLU is picky about the cases it fights as it can be held liable for any 'frivilous' lawsuits.

I wouldn't say that at all, the ACLU while not a completely "evil" organization (they have done some good), is all about getting press time. They'll take any case that will be sensationalized.

They're a catch 22 org.

Not completely evil I will agree with. Perhaps only 99.9% evil.

Anytime I hear about the ACLU it is generally some stupid person having done something stupid and now they are screaming foul play. They try to fry whatever person/entity is the cause of this "foul play". Giving not only that person/entity a bad name but glamorizing the idea that anyone can have anything their way if they scream loud enough.

Granted they have done some good works. But in the past decade I can not think of a single one off the top of my head.

Perhaps better informed forum members can educate me?

I stopped taking the ACLU seriously after they tried to have the city of LA change their seal because it had a "religious" icon on it (I forgot whether it was a cross or the word "God"). I just couldn't believe some fruity group would try to change the seal of a city that has stood for several decades and is one of the US's largest cities. I saw that icon as a representation of the city's history and heritage. No one had a problem with it except for them and about 200 petitioners. What really pissed me off was that this was done during a time in which oil prices were on the rise and CA was undergoing the whole power crisis problem. Changing the seal would have meant the city of LA would have to foot the bill of about $33 million to change the seals on all their official docs. Frivolous I tell ya...

You might as well, their agenda is about as un-American as most terrorists'.

They have done some good, but I have to agree with Marinerhodes that 99.9% of what they do is bollocks. For everytime I hear of them doing something worthwhile there are ten times I hear of things that make me audibly groan if not curse.
