Standard Issue info


I am intersted to know what you think the best standard issue assault weapon is. Just the name, some info and the Country name.

Mine is:

G36-
Caliber: 5.56 x 45 mm NATO
Muzzle velocity (v0): 920 m/s
Rate of fire: 750 round/min
Maximum shooting distance: 2860 m
Range (reflex sight): 400 m
Range (telescopic sight): 600 m
Rifling: 6 grooves, spin right

Countrys- Germany, Spain, Norway (marines and SF) and Mexico

That's a nice weapon. It still looks like a rifle instead of a dang breadbox. Some of the little boxy looking contraptions are so similar at both ends, I'd be afraid I'd point the wrong end. I wonder if they come with a sign "this end toward enemy?"

The reflex sight is zeroed for 100 m. For everything above you use the 3X Telescope sight with marks for 200,400,600 and 800 m. The effective range is about 500m but I doubt that. 500m is a lot. On the shootingrange I think it´s possible, but elsewhere I think 500m is something for designated marksman or sniper. Spain uses the G36E ( now renamed in G36V) E=Export. The E only has a 1,5X telescope sight and no reflex sight.

I saw this on wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G36 . It was under technical data. And yes, i see the data on the G36E.....My personal favorite is the G36C varient wise.

I think it is still the M-16 which is issue in many countries around the world. And also the AK-47.
