They used people´s panic to scare them even more and put them against aznar´s goverment. The Psoe said the attack was due to the presence of spanish troops in Irak, but it has being demostrated that the attack was prepared much more before. Many of the terrorist were from Morroco and many of them had relations with the Moroco secret services. It is well Know that Morocco is very interested in the spanish cities in north africa(ceuta & melilla) and also y the canary Islands. It would not be strange that Morocco were interested in having a weaker goverment in Spain. Aznar´s Goverment had a very clear position in this question, but with the socialist never Know... Bush Administration was a friend of Aznar´s Goverment and they help us in the crisis we had 3 years ago with some islands that Morocco also says that are under their soberany. Science the Psoe is in the power we lost US help and the posible diplomatic presaure they could make on Morocco´s goverment is lost.

The Psoe is also having a crazy internal policy: the are using the power of catalan´s independet´s to support the goverment in madrid, they could not have a stable goverment with out them.

In the Basque country we are having many problems too and I do not Know if they are gonna be able to solve them. In abril the Basque country is gonna ask the basques if the want independence, let´s see what happens....

Aznar was a capable PM. A good leader. Perhaps the Moroccans chose the date because they knew it would get rid of Aznar and put in place an incompetent party and candidate who had big promises and no plans.
