| The fire is everything... ![]() | Post; SPAM WARNING!! READ NOW!Yesterday and today I have recieved several returned e-mails from MAILER-DEAMON and postmaster accounts. It seems like someone/something is forwarding spam with the military-quotes.com domain!! AOL has already banned military-quotes.com mails, since several of their members have reported spam from here. That means that no new members with AOL e-mails can register yet... I have contacted my web host and AOL about this problem, and I'm waiting for a reply now! Please do NOT open any e-mails from any military-quotes.com e-mails other that: Webmaster @military-quotes.com Mail @military-quotes.com Contact @military-quotes.com I'll post here again as soon as I know any more about this! All Spammers should burn in H**L!!! ![]() |

| The fire is everything... ![]() | Dang.. I hate those guys... But it turns out that it wasn't as serious as I first thought.. AOL isn't banning military-quotes.com, but the entire server military-quotes.com is on.. My web host said that this issue would be taken care of within 48 hours... The spam is not coming from my server, so I'm not hacked.. But someone is "spoofing" my e-mail adress. This means the he sends e-mails from his own adress, but conceals them as military-quotes.com adresses. find out more about e-mail spoofing on google here: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...email+spoofing These e-mail adresses are luckily easy to identify, since most of them are not real names/adresses. All of the returned mails i got came from nonsense adresses like zxcvcsfwrtsvcxt@ military-quotes.com... So my normal adresses should be ok. But I really hope that no one else thinks that I'm a spammer... It's almost nothing I can do about this either, and it can last as long as a week or two... Anyone else here who has experienced something similiar to this before?? |

| Buttercup ![]() | One of my buddies got hacked (I believe that is the correct term) and he was sending out around 5000 e-mails a day advertising a bestiality website from his university e-mail account. He found out when one went to his parents' e-mail address.

| The fire is everything... ![]() | I can post it here too: I did also get an e-mail from myself today... from axasxcdcfdcs@ military-quotes.com (or something similar to that...) And the worst thing is that I do suggest to myself that I need Viagra... I wonder where I got that idea from... |

| The fire is everything... ![]() | Looks like the worst part is over now.. No more returned mails from myself in the last couple of days. I just don't hope there's too many angry people out there who got viagra and get-rich-quick mails from "me"... A Spamfilter is a very nice thing to have.. |

It is impossible to try to fight them since t most of them mask their ip's or take over somebody's computer and then use that computer as a server. I believe the term for that is a zombie computer. I just got finished working on a friend's computer. I found a total of 455 spyware items and 7 trojans.

| Centurion | Redleg funny enough, the same thing happened to me! Some guy was using my e-mail (hadn't used it in months) and I guess I was being "Spam Reported" and my account was shutdown. My dad called them up and told me the story and had a laugh!! |

But it's been better lately, haven't got many returned e-mails. I don't think anyone has hacked my computer, they were only "spoofing" (pretending to be) my e-mail, and using adresses like xbvzcxesfr @military-quotes.com but the funny thing was that I got a Viagra spam mail from "myself" when this was going on.. I have written a bit about scum/spyware here: http://www.military-quotes.com/forum...opic.php?t=677

| Tirones | Redleg: look at the email more carefully, you will find out that the email is not sent from your IP address. This problem is due to the current email system. I can sent a email to anyone with the email address billgates@microsoft.com! Anyone can. Try to use a spam filter + RBL http://www.akadia.com/services/postfix_uce.html here is a link for postfix. |
