I can't remember what country it was exactly, but they named it the kidnapping capitol of the world, and it was in South America. Just a thought if you plan to go down there. Actually there are a few forums out there that discuss personal defense and kidnapping. A few members actually live in South America and have specially rigged their car's trunks, wear special shoes that house razor blades, etc. It's pretty interesting if you're into that stuff.

At one time at least a Couple years ago it was Colombia. FARC and their splinter groups were having a hey day.
