Bad thing is it isn't the military alone. If more people had to actually work (I mean hard physical labor) for at least a few years of their life they would appreciate more of what life has to offer.

I understand why young men and men or women in general desert from the U.S armed forces right now. Heck a soldier is a soldier not police men. When it comes to Iraq I really understand why they dont want to go there. That hell hole is no better then Vietnam was, heck you could line up every white,black, yellow, green, gray, pink, blue person that simply wear that uniform and ask for a bullet. Get the troops out of there - the sooner the better and re-install Saddam Hussein, he will have peace there within 3 months. My 2 cents.

You'd have to be a real idiot to sign up for the Marines for college money. There are plenty of safer places to serve that give you just as much.
