I don't know I have always had issues with using "perceived threats" and "threats" as legal justification for anything simply because its an open ended argument that cannot be quantified anyone can claim pretty much anything as a threat.

To some degree I think this is another "Look at me I have a cause" scenario.

The odd thing about these rights is that everyone is entitled to a view whether we like it or not, they just don't necessarily have the right to act on it.

Very sticky, I don't know what implications are involved with meeting on Federal land, and also the position of the Major whether he was attending in an official capacity or not.

If the Major is "pulling rank" to get his own way in violation of the enlisted man's Constitutional Rights there could well be a lot of unwelcome attention bought down upon the Army.

I'd really want to know a lot more about the actual circumstances before I got too involved.

Lovely one sided story that's probably taken out of context.
No one REALLY knows how the argument happened.
Maybe some of the atheists starting slinging at religion so bad that the officer tried to bring some perspective and it kinda got out of hand. Once a reporter got a sniff of it, he changed around just about everything and then voila, we have a story.

On the census in Britain in 2001 there was a question about religion, Well it appeared that on the census form when they were checked they found that the majority of people were all Jedi knights, which left government scratching it's head whether it should make it an official religion. As silly as this sounds it is quite true

Le - Yes, like me, people probably objected to the question on the basis of it being their own business. Wasn't it once a Nazi census question?
