It is a 5.56, a relatively small round, so on the recoil it's not too bad (from what I hear). If you really want to fire one, get your Non-Restricted Firearms license and get yourself a AR-15, that is unless you don't mind joining the Canadian Forces, or Royal Canadian Army Cadets.

There's recoil on the C7? Hmm...I never noticed. Imagine getting a quick but light shove in the shoulder from someone. That's what it feels like. The C7 isn't overly powerful as far as firearms go. Mostly because of the 5.56mm round it fires, as Cdt Matteo pointed out. And as far as it being black goes...actually, the C7A2 is now mostly green. Only the receiver assembly and barrel are black.

Not much difference from any other 5.56mm rifle. ![]() I like the look of the C7A2, we here in the US have your "Plain Jane" M4's and M16's.

5.56 is very thankfully not hard on your shoulder, thats what is great about it.

I can't wait to fire an AR-15 or something to compare it with the K-2.
