A FEW MONTHS after Tom and I were married during World War II, he was shipped off to Pearl Harbor. In one of his first letters, he wrote, "I'm going to have a Navy battleship tattooed on my chest." Instead of pleading, I answered simply, "Send me a picture of your tattoo, and I'll have a duplicate put on my chest." We have been married for 51 years. Neither of us has a tattoo.

Have to find a reply to that one. I want another tattoo and the wife says I dont need one. I only have 3 and only one shows - less that an inch square - with a shortsleeve shirt on.

my dad has 6 tattoos going up and down both arms, a couple USMC tattoos, some stars, a tiger, a can of beer, and a pack of ciggys

Its a tribal something or another thats protects you. I think its a waste of money and quite trashy!
