Not necessarily, depends on where he's looking at the time, distance to the target, weather, etc. You're actually more likely to see it with the naked eye than in the scope and then hone in. But yeah, the point still remains the same, smoking in the field = bad juju.

And this gentleman, is why God make smokeless tobacco.

Thats what I meant. See the light with naked eye.Hone in.Then shoot as first cigarette is lit.(unless theres zero visibility,looking in another direction ,out of ammunition etc....)
