| | Slow learners info1. How many times did the germans have to invade through the Ardenne before the allies realised it was possible. 2. The bombing of Stalingrad, Monte Cassino Monastery and Caen after D Day showed that all that was achieved was to give excellent cover for streetfighting defenders and to block streets to vehicles. They still continued doing it. Any additions welcome. |

How about, the bombing of civilian populations does little more than harden their resolve to fight on.

The fact that ignoring what a country is doing in a military way doesn't mean it goes away. This is still the case in the modern day with some countries.

Also I'm sure the Maginot Line was to be extended to cover the Belgian border but the world was having quite a depression there so the French Republic lacked the funds to extend it. | |

It is the civilians that make the weapons of war, with out them the war grinds to halt. Area bombing made sure you destroyed as much as possible of the enemies capability to carry on fighting

Really then explain why German AFV production went from around 500 in 1939 to almost 19000 in 1944 and aircraft production went from 2000 in 1939 to 35000 in 1944?
