I don't remember anyone being self conscious of their bodies in the shower. In fact, if you get a comment, your answer should be, "hey Sarge, we've got a guy in here checking packages", that will put an end to that. Everyone will start staring at the ceiling.

Hell at Bliss when we went on FTX to White Sands during Basic there weren't even dividers between the thrones. THAT took some getting used to... dropping some kids at the pool sitting cheek to cheek with 20 other guys was a little more bizarre than the showers.

Bulldog is right. Showering isn't the problem, it was not having a divider between the toilets that freaked me out. There are some barracks in Benning set up like that.

Now, as for the shower. You might have the one of three step ups.

1) Shower stalls have dividers
2) Shower spigots might just be on the wall and have no dividers
3) The Stripper Poll Shower, it's a Poll with six to eight shower spigots on it.

In the end, don't worry and just get clean.

And the standard size is something between 5 inched to 6 inches for most guys when erect. So relax.

Well, I was kind of worried about that two before I joined....But i found out 3 things:

A) I have nothing to be ahsamed of....(That was a relief....

)

B) You are usually too damn tired to notice anyone else. My avrage shower in bootcamp and courses was about 3 mins...Just to get clean for sleeping.

C) Really though if someone is checking you out you have bigger problems....

id say dont worry about it, because everyone will be in the same boat as you

and, you can just take a cold shower and blame it on "shrinkage"
