This is his second time around in DoD and he is still not meeting the listed job requirements as defined by law, not public opinion, satisfactorily. When any organisation fails to meet the standards or falters owing to deficits in leadership by the COO he/she is made redundant forthwith.

From what I hear and read his career is so stained that he should not prolong this. Even if he might have some competence, an openly doubted and critisized leader isn't the right guy to lead the world's mightiest army.

Jesus, he can't properly get our troops equipped (most of you have probably heard my story on the 5-inch armor kits), so on that basis alone I say throw him out and get someone better qualified in.

Looks to me like he meant he didn't believe the SECDEF should have to resign nor should he be fired.
