lol.

EDIT: After a better look at the site.....is this a joke site or something? They seem to be advertising an attack by pirates.
Even though THIS site seems like a fake one to me, there IS at least one company who really offers cruises with the sole purpose of being attacked by pirates. In the end, it goes down to hunting human beings legally (bc they try to hijack your ship): you can rent anything from AKs to Grenade Launchers and .50 cal MGs, and if things don't work out so well, there are former SpezNas-soldiers on board to deal with whoever showed up and tried to hijack the ship.
As soon as I succeeded in digging up the article I read about this, I'll post a link as proof..

Nobody would ever let a civilian touch a 50 cal or a grenade launcher.

As far as I know, when demand for personnel went up and it couldn't be met by properly qualified individuals, they started hiring Joes off the street. You know, the security guard types.
Either way, they are civilian.
You can train civilians in a short amount of time on how to properly use and maintain a .50 and a 203. The stuff isn't magic. Give a crew one week's intensive training. They will be reasonably competent in defending themselves against pirates.
I'm not a big fan of civilians but they're not all screw ups and morons. In fact...

That's because a grenade launcher is anti-personnel, and a 50 cal is a anti-aircraft cannon.
But civilians CAN get a 50 cal, I have one for hunting deer, its a muzzle loader but its 2 years old, and I'd hate to see what a human would look like if a slug from that baby hit em. Hittin a deer is bad enough.
