per month per person (5000 Euros here in Spain, you need a solid mil background and then to pass a (short, 3-5 days if my information is correct) weapons training and psychology test with the Spanish Marines as State had to tweak the law to allow private secruity firms manage cal .50 MGs).

15M(ay): Noooobody! ...expects the Spanish Revolution!:
Update SEP 2011: Now reached US, called "Occupy Wall Street" and they claim they invented it. Thanks for learning from Spain!

Do I have to speak Spanish?
I can pass everything else, and I still can break a .50 cal down and walk off with it
the Psychology test would be the only hard thing

Re: Spanish, I have no idea really about the required standards (I am sure a short inquiry with the Security Firms involved will get you up to speed: They are Santa Barbara Systems (SBS), a subsidiary of U.S. group General Dynamics and Segur Ibérica), but I have a hunch it would be a prerequisite as it is treating with Spanish crew and coordinate with Spanish Navy and Military... ?

"The requirements that have to be passed are: Competence as security guards (TIP), license for private security weapons (type C) and military experience, explain participants in the process. Selection also values the experience in a war zone and at sea.
The psycho test is supposed to flush out the nut jobs that might do more harm than good, mainly for insurance reasons.

A start to get the gist would be this article: http://www.cincodias.com/articulo/em...iemp_9/cdsemp/ Pass it (as URL) through google translator http://translate.google.com/?hl=en&sl=es&tl=en# and you get the idea.

Thanks Rattler, I gotta check into it, the Spanish part will be hard fro me but if I could squeak by the psych, I did time on carriers, so to me a ships a ship, the only part of the psych test i might fail is I have this uncontrollable tendency to try my best to kill whoever is shooting at me without regard to their safety, no mater what, and I don't stop until I achieve my mental goal

Spanish sec teams also repelled two attacks, just a month ago, shooting to kill with their cal .50s in one short and one extended fire fight (the latter lasting over one hour against 6 skiffs, they got answered with an RPG that took out part of the bridge; no ENY cas stats got public). No attack on trawlers since then.

Somebody needs to clean up that mess. It would be pretty good training.

For ship protection against pirates.
Which wouldn't be much of a competition to begin with.
