lol.

EDIT: After a better look at the site.....is this a joke site or something? They seem to be advertising an attack by pirates.

I would be concerned about the economic factor, I agree with 13th on the pleasure cruising around Somolia, you have the whole wide ocean blue to go cruising on and you are a moron and choose Somolia? If you do that I believe you get what you get. I only care about how much effect that increased shipping costs would have on the world market, not some bloke and the saftey his million dollar bath toy.

Yeah... but unfortunately rescue operations are launched or ransoms are paid since some of these guys with expensive toys also have very powerful friends.

One of the "Pirate Ships" sunk last year was a hijacked fishing boat.

I've read books of fishing vessels being attacked for their money and catch.

Sadly your right. I guess most of the 'citizens' to be captured would be big men with lots of money who have other big friends to help get them out of trouble. I guess their not really helping the situation.

Thanks

Actually sometimes the fishing boats are the pirate boats.
What's the difference? The crew's decision making.

True about the fishing boat thing. Sometimes it is amazing of some of the things pirates hunt. I still can't understand though why hijacked a sailing yaught. I mean, it wasn't even that big. Just your average sailing boat!

I've seen on the news that US vessels are patrolling the seas in Somalia. Is it just US vessels and how many are their patrolling?

"Ships" can be broad topic, you have to wonder what kind of vessels where sent to patrol the seas around Somalia. That can tell a story in itself.

Hard to find specifics. Article mentions the EU, NATO, Malasia & China also patrolling.
