Everybody thinks they’re gonna get a chance to punch some Nazi in the face at Normandy and those days are over, they are long gone.

Yeah probably not the best example but definatly understand the sentiment.
An interesting or sad footnot to this story, shortly after the crash, some peice of garbage wrapped in human skin collected the gear from the crash site of the dead guys and then started flogging it off as genuine SAS equipment. I had the article pinned up on my wall as a reminder of the types of people that live in this world but it got lost over the years.
