You know, I pity-the-fool who confronts me about saluting the flag instead of placing my hand over my heart. I've been a civilian for 12 years and I get to choose when, where, and how I show respect. I think a movement to encourage vets to salute the colors is a great idea. In addition to just feeling right, it would also allow our vets to show their pride in public service and let the general public know just how many of us have and still do serve and support our constitution and it's red-white-and-blue representative.
