About Russian NV scope alimentation

Hello everybody,

I'm here looking for some informations about the alimentation for a Russian Night Vision scope.

The model is 1PN34 (One PN Three Four). It's right now working normally with a double AA batteries. But I've heard that it's not working at full capabilities in this setup.

Is it working at fully capacity in this setup? And what kind of alimentation it would need to work at full capacity?

It's mounted on a SVD Dragunov type weapon. Right now, it's used on a friend's airsoft Dragunov rifle.
