Post; Romo ties Dallas record with 5 TD passes

Associated Press

IRVING, Texas - In only his fifth career start, Tony Romo tied a Dallas Cowboys record with five touchdown passes Thursday against Tampa Bay.
Romo threw the five TD passes in a span of six drives, the last one putting the Cowboys up 35-10. The record-tying score was a 7-yarder to Terrell Owens, which the receiver capped by depositing the ball into one of the Salvation Army red kettles being used as a prop for the charity's annual holiday fund-raising campaign.
This marks the ninth time in team history a quarterback has had five TD passes and the first time on Thanksgiving.
It was last done by Troy Aikman in the 1999 opener, an overtime win over Washington. Danny White was the last to do it in regulation, back in 1983. Don Meredith (three times), Craig Morton (twice) and Eddie LeBaron are the other Dallas quarterbacks to pull off the feat.
Indianapolis' Peyton Manning threw for six touchdowns on Thanksgiving two years ago.
