Post; Rocket hits near U.N. chief in Baghdad (AP)


AP - A rocket landed near the prime minister's office Thursday during the first visit to Iraq by the head of the United Nations in nearly a year and a half, sending Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon ducking unharmed behind a podium at a news conference.

one other thing... i saw the report on this incident..... there was a second round that did not explode. it landed rather closer than the first one did.... can't say much more but it was definitely a "lucky stars" moment.

it was not a mortar. it was a 122mm Katusha rocket
