Also, in another photo. You have a Chi-Com soldier diving into the dirt muzzle first. Sorry, but I think that even the PRC Army would teach it's troops not to allow dirt and debris clog the muzzle. That would cause one major KB! But hey, they're my enemy anyways. So I will continue to allow them to take themselves out of action.

The QBZ-95 is an assault rifle of Chinese origin. The QBZ-95 was developed in the 1990's as a new generation of assault rifles for the Chinese military. Compared to the older generation of Chinese rifles the QBZ-95 is very different. It is of a bullpup design, does not use the Kalashnikov mechanism and uses a new type of ammunition. QBZ-95 stands for Qing Buqiang Zu 1995, which is Chinese for light rifle family 1995.
The QBZ-95 is an assault rifle with a bullpup that fires the 5.8x42mm round, which was specifically developed for this new line of firearms. It uses a short stroke gas system and a rotating bolt. The limited rate of fire and a complex recoil buffer make the QBZ-95 very controllable. The furniture is fully made out of polymer and the barrel and internal mechanism are made out of metal. The rear sights are integrated in the carrying handle, which also has a mount for a 4x optical sight. Several variants that have been developed are a carbine and light support weapon. Although the variants share many components, it is not possible to reconfigure them into another version.
The QBZ-95 fires the standard version Chinese 5.8x42mm round from a 30 round magazine. The light support weapon variant also uses 75 round drum magazines. The export version fires the more common 5.56x45mm NATO round from STANAG magazines. The QBZ-95 is a select fire rifle with a limited rate of fire of about 650 rpm. The effective range is claimed to be 400 meters for the QBZ-95 and 600 meters for the QBB-95 light support weapon. It is possible to fire rifle grenades and an under barrel grenade launcher or bayonet can be fitted.
The QBZ-95 is issued to first line troops of the Chinese military. The QBZ-95 is also in use with special units of the Chinese police. The QBZ-97 export version has been exported in modest quantities to several nations in Asia.

Hey Regisvo, you fill up the barrel of an AK-47 rifle with dirt and it's going to cause problems too. The problems that I'm talking about are barrels and receivers blowing up. That has nothing to do with an AK versus M16 thing. That has something to do with proper weapon handling and safety.

As I said, I've handled them. Nothing special... just another Chi-Com bull-pup rifle. Of course that was the QBZ-97, which is cahmbered in the 5.56x45mm and uses a different magazine well and magazines. It uses the NATO STANAG AR-15 series of magazines.

I have a little bit of background experience in this field. I'm a former Gun Smith and Firearms Dealer. I'm currently a police officer and I go to just about every single firearms event in the USA. The SHOT Show is the major event. Everyone there hawks their gear and guns. Your little rifle was there. It was not the best thing that I've seen. Infact, I seen better polished turds made in the Gun Bazaars Of Pakistan (home made guns).

first no b******t the qbz is not bad it hasnt been battle test but just because chinese doesnt mean everything they do for thousand of year is gonna be of usa and japan because believ it or not china work ethics as well as their iq is much higher then all western country combine and beside media japan is actually below china and korea in iq but unlike korea and japan china stilll stuck on cheap labor and more copycat then chinese national made stuff because of goverment restriction,lack of incentive and of course the fact that they are still in the process of moving tomakin their own stuff pace and also they are a world factory ..this is proabably cultural and a bit of nationliaty or racial issue then gun issue... if it is then there are pride on both side although i have to say you started the trash talking although i believe m16 is superior saying qbz 95 is useless and for farmer is probably a dumbest statement from anybody claiming to have shot it china might make cheap stuff but it not like the korean war anymore where they havent even modernize and is still climbing out of the civil war mes they created and also canada my friend ban this weapon from what i heard that wiki infomation you are using is outdated.. and also it is not base of the sa 40 like you wish it would be same for the famas that white cod kid dream.. and it is not the best gun therefore qbz o3 is gonna replace it.. it is somewhat base of the ak47 but not so much in the design and i have read somewhere that the gas piston and the rotating bolt or something is similar to dragnouv but just hearing you say it is copy version of sa 40 just tell me you are a just using propaganda now i have not shot this gun so you have the upper hand there but of course you could just be lying about shooting the qbz and even if you did you hugely exaggerated to the point as saying homemade weapon is better? bro really then china might as well make homemade weapon they do that all the time... and you are obviously biased as you are only taking side on the non chinese side where as i only look at what is better which is the m16 and what is completely true not you you b******t but so did the chinese guy chinese guy caliming it is the best is wrong it is highly average ammong people opinon and you saying the qbz 95 cant shoot is wrong i can show you a video even though there isnt much but the carbine qbz 95 b shot fairly accurate and remember this isnt a hostile talk so dont get all booty tickle on me

He did have many criticisms of the rifle though, for one the gun has too many parts and in a combat situation; any faults that occur would simply be hell to fix. The other thing is that the sights were a bit too high.

When it comes to M16's v.s QBZ's I'd still go for the M16; the QBZ has a substantial no. of flaws but in my eyes it is possible for the Chinese improve upon their design and make it at least solid enough to stand up against contemporary rifles such as the Kalash74 or M16. Im generally inexperienced when firing assault rifles since I mostly just use bolt-actions (Australian law/some dude in the 70's with an AK killed dozens of people :O)

good to see a fellow filipino here.i was wondering if your cousinsever fired the FERFRANS SOAR. i got here from a youtube link and some chinese guy has been bashing the SOAR saying the type 95 is a whole lot better,ive used the m4 and the 416 before and the soar is just a reduced firing rate version of the m4 so i figure the reliability and the performance is about the same.

First of all I would like to apologize for allowing this to continue any further, but I feel there are many aspects of history, economy, and politics left out in respect to the apparent country bashing.

Historically, Hong Kong Island and the surrounding areas have been property of Britain. With the New Territories (a part of Hong Kong city) under a 99 year lease. In 1997, when the lease expired, in favor of keeping the city united, Britain relinquished control over all of HK City back to China. Freeing Hong Kong would be much like 'freeing' any major city from its respective country.

In the past, yes China has been a communist/socialist society. So has Russia and many other countries a part of the Warsong Pact. However, it is a very uncivilized act to discriminate a person based on race, home government or political views, all three have been arguably violated with the use of the term Chi-com. Along those lines, there have been brief periods of people bashing Chinese goods simply because they are Chinese. They have deemed the QBZ-95 a weapon of poor quality and design, without realizing that what ever high-tech cellphone they may use contains a majority of parts the originate from China. No one bashes an iPhone because its made in China, rather because its an Apple product.

Furthermore, China can hardly be classified as a socialist state, although it claims to be. A key part of this is private ownership, an aspect of economy that doesn't exist in true communism. The widespread business and competition also defies true communism. This is mainly because as many found out in history that public ownership of everything always crashes and burns. This has been tested out through trial and error in the history of human conquest.

That being said, capitalism isn't the best economic system either. Anyone her old enough to have lived through the depression? Not that I claim to be, but a major factor in the was the laissez-faire (free market) policy the US gov has at the time. Government interference in the economy is key in socialism, and the depression is proof that without at least some government regulation, the economy will again crash and burn. Neither socialism nor capitalism are sound economic systems.

I'm sorry for this first and possibly last post, but I just wanted some general info on the QBZ-95 and it gets irritating watching all these circular arguments. Feel free to correct or debated on what I've said. I don't claim to be a perfect being.
