| Milforum's Postmaster | Post; Rate the Artillery pieceNow, being a Basic Branch artilleryman, there are WAY to many topics here about tanks. So now you are free to rate the artillery pieces of the world and share your on which is best! For me: 1) MLRS - M270A1 2) Paladin - M109A6 3) Caesar |

| Master Gunner | Give me a cannon any day over MLRS. Sure you can take out an entire gridsquare. You rarely have to swat a fly with a sledgehammer though. Tube artillery is precise and accurate. I'll go with that. As for howitzers, yes, the M109 series is my favorite. I prefer SPs as do most artillerymen I've ever met. Hogs are alot safer than pigs (towed artillery for you non-redlegs). |

| Milforum's Postmaster | I have been on both M109A3 when I was an LT and MLRS as a Battery Commander. Two different systems with two different missions in life. Even the leadership of the soldiers is different between the both of them. With all that said however, I do like the MLRS for kicking the crap out of a gridsquare, but I do like the M109 for getting the job in the close fight. Also, I would rather work with the 13B soldier vs. the 13M. |
