Well, I have been picking on since 5th Grade to earlier 9th Grade for about being only deaf student in the school. But until the freshman year, I joined NJROTC. They stopped picking on me when they saw me in the uniform and my size by the height. They're pussies. No fight....but always close to get in the fight....They were just bunch of punks, emos, skateboarders.

Basically in our school if people are really POed at each other, they fight it out, even though it means suspention. We had probably ten or more fights and a very serious gun threat last year. Philam how do the cliques intimidate the peer counseling team? Its sounding to me like there has been some progress but with varying degrees of success. I see the problem of school violence as a three pronged object involving parents-teachers-students. For the kids who have seen problems still in their schools- which of the three is responsible for the failure to improve things as you see it? |

I think the blame is shared fairly equally between the three sets of people. The teachers dont really act to stop verbal abuse. The parents need to watch their kids more carefully as well. Honestly, kids today are as vicious as always. I think that the only diffrence is that they are a bit more indirect about it now.

So to answer your original question, if our couseling team tried to do anything about maybe how "the populars" treat others it would first depend on who was on this team, if it wasn't anyone in their clique they would tear them apart, not physically. Rumors, comments, sneers, taunts, anything to embarrass them whether it was the way they look, or the stuff they have or do. They high school is the best years of your life...the people who say that were probably "popular" just saying | |

Thing about our counseling team...They don't care. They really are made of rubber...The populars can and have tried most everything, but nothing works on them, because they know that ultimately, it doesn't matter...God is the only one that can judge them. Nothing else matters.

I was only picked on once throughout my entire school career up to this point, back in second grade. Some kid thought it would be funny to steal my lunch, and then later to steal my seat on the bus. So the next day I punched him in the back of the head in the hall and stomped him, and I never had problems again. No one has ever insulted or attacked me in High School. My school had about 3,200 kids in it. I was one of the biggest kids there, and I kept a low profile so no one really had any incentive to start problems. The only fights I've seen have been between black girls, but I do occasionally hear of bloody fights that take place off of school grounds. Wouldn't do to get caught doing something that violent.
