Try going thru your chain of command first. But seriously, you might want to PM 03USMC or DTop or DUTY Honor Country. "It doesn't take a hero to order men into battle. It takes a hero to be one of those men who goes into battle." - Norman Schwarskopf, Commander of Desert Storm Operations |

I don't have the AR's in front of me right now so. I don't think the DA4187 will work. I believe that in order to request transfer to another brigade you'll have to request Change of Assignment from your parent unit (division) to another brigade within the unit. Best bet go to your 1st Sgt. Explain your position and he can direct you to the proper paperwork. Keep in mind if your unit is spooling up it's gonna be the needs of the Army. Sgt. I've talked to my chain of command earlier today. My platoon sergeant said he'll run it by the SGM sometime soon. He says more than likely not but they might be able to work something out with me. But now I'm just waiting to see what the SGM says I just pray it works out.

the reason why the non-deploying BDE is short of people is that they are probably filling up the deploying unit. You may or may not be able to do the transfer, but if you are in the BDE and they are set to roll out.. you may be stuck.. Tough, but reality is a bi**h |

Well yeah I know I'm stuck here so I'm not too worried about it. Its my turn to go back to Iraq anyway. But thanks a lot for all the replies and concern.
