Second Lieutenant Lukasz Kurowski died near Gardez base in Paktika province, Afghanistan.
The attack started at 9.50 CET 20 km SE from Gardez when Taleban attacked a Polish convoy.
The Polish soldiers got out of Humvees and assaulted the hills where the Taleban positions were placed.
This is the standard procedure, and at that moment 2nd Lt. Kurowski was shot.
He got transferred to the US base Wilderness where he died near 10 CET.

2nd Lt. Lukasz Kurowski, was 28. He was married

RIP. 28 is rather old for a 2nd Lieutenant. He must have given up a lot of stuff to go over there to do what he believed in.
