Hi guys After very intensive Holiday feasting I’ve decided to post something food related.

Polish MREs:

1. Military Food Ration (type W):

Military Food Ration (type W) has been designed for one person. Each ration pack is contained in a separate packaging in a waterproof and heat-sealed plastic bag. It differs considerably from other food rations, as it contains food that can be warmed-up with the help of equipment included. It is specially comfortable when there is no field kitchen available. The composition of each of the meals has energetic value necessary for proper biological functioning of a man in difficult situations (increased effort).

Composition of food ration pack:

- special canned food
- hard tack
- fruit and cereal bar
- dried fruit
- powdered fizzy drink

Additional accessories:
- vitamin C candy
- chewing gum
- fruit jam
- plastic spoon
- napkin
- toilet paper
- matches
- solid fuel
- heating mat
- plastic bag
- chicory coffee extract
- instant tea
- sugar

In each set some ingredients are exchangeable.

Depending on the set variation:

- pork in a vegetable sauce, special hard tacks, fruit and cereal bar, apricots
- beef in a vegetable sauce, special hard tacks, fruit and cereal bar, raisins
- beef in a tomato/mushroom sauce, special hard tacks, fruit and cereal bar, condensed milk, apricots
- chicken in a spicy sauce, condensed milk, special hard tacks, hazelnuts, fruit and cereal bar
- turkey in a homemade sauce, special hard tacks, almonds, fruit and cereal bar, dark chocolate

2. Military Food Ration (type S):

Military Food Ration has been designed for one person and is often used by participants of “SURVIVAL” events.
Each ration pack is contained in a separate packaging in a waterproof and heat-sealed plastic bag.
The composition of each of the meals has been combined considering the conditions in which the food is to be eaten and has energetic value not smaller than the minimum number of calories necessary for proper biological functioning of a man in difficult situations (increased effort).

There are six types of military food ration packs based on a norm developed specially for this purpose.

Composition of food ration pack:

- special canned food
- pate
- hard tack
- sugar
- instant tea
- condensed milk
- plastic top

Additional accessories:

- natural coffee extract
- sugar
- chewing gum
- vitamin C candy
- plastic bag
- napkin
- matches
- toilet paper

In each set the type of canned food and pate is exchangeable.

3. Group Food Ration

Group Food Ration is designed for a group of 5 people and is to be served warm, e.g. by means of a field kitchen. It consists of four meals (breakfast, dinner, supper, complementary meal). Calorific value of meals has been calculated on the basis of a nutritional norm in such a way so as to provide the proper dose of energy for an entire day. At present there are ten types of group food ration packs.

Yeah, they are. Much better than the Polish horse divisions against German Panzer divisions.
