I think once North Korea falls, we'll have tons of literature coming out about it. Right now there's just no explanation. There's no other country in the world like it.
People are not in the streets because if you're in the streets, you're spending money, and that's something they don't have.

Surely another reason for being on the streets is because you're going to work. Do they not have that either?

Not in a "socialist paradise". Maybe they all come out at night, who knows.

Well.... it looks like rural France.... kinda makes me feel at home!

To some degree a lot of those city shots look like publicity shots hence the lack of people about.
