A few weeks back I scrounged a film of the training of Paratroopers [UK] in 1954 from the No1 Parachute Training School, well it was of my era.

Good movie. I noticed that the emphasis was mostly on how to land, pretty hard to fight with a broken ankle or worse.

Missileer........You remember in those days they still had conscription and soldiers were a cheap commodity. Also they had quite a generous target in the number of men that could die in training with out any questions being asked. Also if looked carefully you would notice that none of the men carried a reserve parachute
